The town of Livada is the capital of Beotia region. Near are the beautiful gorges of Erkinas.
Few kilometers northward from Livada, Chaeronea is known for its marble lion of 5,5 meters high built near ossuaries commemorating the battle of -338 which opposed the Greek allies to the Macedonians of Philippe II who were victorious. Alexandre the Great himself fought here in his first battle.
