Greece counts approximately 450 islands from which 130 are uninhabited.

Ionian islands

These mountainous islands located at the west of the peninsula know a rainy climate which differentiates them from the other Greek islands by a dense vegetation. They are seven whose principal ones from north to the south: Corfu (Kerkyra), Lefkas (Lekdada), Cephalonia (Kefallonia) and Ithaca (Ithaki), Zante (Zakynthos) and Cerigo (Kythira) more far, in the south of the Peloponnese.

Cyclades acrhipelago

The archipelago counts 39 islands from which 15 are inhabited, it is a destination appraisal by tourism. It is from these islands that the traditionals images come from, with white villages with hillside dominating the sea. They offer immense beaches, traditional villages, castles, Byzantine churches, ancient ruins, but also bars and clubs. The principal islands are: Amorgos, Anafi, Andros, Antiparos, Delos, Ios, Kea, Kimolos, Folegandros, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Santorin, Serifos, Sikinos, Sifnos, Syros and Tinos.

Crete

Crete is the fifth island of the Mediterranean. It is mountainous with a chain extended from west to east. It is the cradle of the ancient minoan civilization from which there remain important ruins as the palate of Knossos. The distance separating it from the continent explains why Crete was independent during centuries, having developed its own culture, its language and its traditions. Crete has much has to offer: splendid beaches, mountains, a forest of palm trees, cities and villages traditional, churches, castles.

Dodecanese archipelago

This archipelago is located along the Turkish coast, it is made of twelve principal islands. Between East and occident, the history was often animated there, its varied architecture testifies about.
Most famous of these islands are Rhodos, of medieval architecture, but the other islands don't miss about interest. Curiosities are varied: ancient and medieval sites, typical castles, beaches, villages, ...

Sporades isalnds

Made of many small islands, the archipelago of North Sporades counts four principal islands (Skiathos, Skopelos, Skiros, Alonissos), timbered, with the pleasant landscapes and the picturesque villages.
